The company originated in 1992 as Communications Consultants in Effingham, Illinois and in November, 2000 was incorporated as Data transfer, Inc. an Illinois Corporation.

When first started in 1992, we were selling long distance for 19.5 cents per minute interstate and 22.9 cents per minute in Illinois. At that time we were not allowed to sell Intralata (local toll).

Due to fierce competition, long distance rates kept falling and with the advent of fiber-optic cables and Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (technology) carrier rates tumbled to the cheap rates we now enjoy. We still enjoy the support of companies that placed their long distance with us in 1992. Because we offer them the lowest rates, they have no reason to go elsewhere.

Data Transfer Inc. has kept abreast of the changing rates and now operates as a data and long distance broker utilizing the goods and services of the four largest networks (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and Qwest) as well as numerous re-billers and re-sellers.

In 2000 an Agreement was made to administer a long distance plan for Electric Cooperatives in Illinois and we now have over 10,000 members enjoying low residential rates.

In January of 2003, we signed an agreement to help market a long distance plan for the Grain & Feed Association of Illinois (GFAI) which has enjoyed a great success.

In October of 2004, we signed an agreement to help market a long distance plan for the Automotive Parts and Service Association of Illinois which appears to be well on its way to a huge success.
